Hot Gig Alert (09/12): Maggie Rose leads southern soul revival into Boston
With her new album No One Gets Out Alive hailed by Rolling Stone as one of the best of 2024, Nashville fixture Maggie Rose is currently on tour across North American promoting the record. The album’s themes touch on subjects such as disillusionment in relationships, ageism, female empowerment and more delivered through a strong, soulful voice with an unmistakable country music base. With over 100 appearances at the iconic Grand Ole Opry and her own podcast Salute the Songbird, now it it’s 4th season Rose’s profile in the Nashville music scene is a large one.
Rose is among the leaders of one of the few genres that isn’t over saturated at the moment. Having it’s heyday in the 60’s and 70’s it’s a crossover genre that has yet to find a mainstream revival but is currently bubbling up to the surface. Often compared to the Laurel Canyon sound the genre currently has an underground following that is quickly growing. With a pair of songs tipping the scales towards 10mil streams on Spotify Rose is right on the edge of “it girl” status but you still have a chance to get in on the ground floor.
*Maggie Rose performs on Thursday, September 12th at Brighton Music Hall in Boston, MA. Tickets start at $14 and are available HERE. The event is all ages and doors open at 7 pm with music beginning at 8pm with support act Hunter Root.*
