One of the coolest things about being a fan of a smaller artist, is watching them grow from playing a 350-capacity venue in Cambridge to opening for an artist playing a 3,500-capacity venue. Maude Latour has grown in her discography, but also in the stage presence of her live shows. The one thing that has stayed the same is the love she has for her fans and how comfortable she is on stage. While this show was slightly different because she was an opener, she still made it such a fun set and definitely gained some new fans.
Latour began her set with the song “Cursed romantics” off her most recent album Sugar Water. The energy was contagious both from her and the crowd. The setlist consisted of first EP throwbacks like “Lola”, along with newer songs like “Whirlpool”. The crowd interaction seemed to come so naturally for her.
With most shows, the set seemed to go by too fast. Maude promised the next time she’ll be here on her own tour promoting her new album here there will be more new music to enjoy. Her final song was one of her first hits, “One More Weekend.” Every time I see Maude Latour live it reminds me how much she has grown since seeing her on Tiktok in 2020. I am so glad I was able to catch her Boston show and am looking forward to the next time she is in the city!
