PHOTOS: The Yardbirds in Fall River, MA (04.10.25)
Editor’s note: English blues rock legends The Yardbirds are among the most important rock bands of the 20th century. The group has featured members such as Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, and Eric Clapton as part of various lineups. When they initially split up in 1968, it was partly due to Page leaving the group to form his own band. Page’s new group started out going by the name The New Yardbirds; the band would eventually come to be known as Led Zeppelin. After a long period of inactivity, original members Jim McCarty and Chris Dreja reunited the group in 1992, and they have been performing since. Dreja left the group in 2013, leaving McCarty as the only original member still in the band, where he remains to this day. McCarty and the band’s current lineup were in New England for several shows last month, performing in Connecticut, Maine, and Massachusetts. Mike Von Villas made it out to the Fall River, MA show, where he captured some images from their set. Check out his work below.
