Last night, Scottish band Franz Ferdinand took over Boston’s Orpheum Theatre for the night. The band is currently on tour for their most recent album, The Human Fear, which is their first release in seven years. Telescreens opened the show with a bang, bringing positive energy and engaging the crowd to sing along. They played some of their hit songs including “Photo Booth” and “Lost Ants.” Franz Ferdinand took the stage around a half hour later, opening with one of the bangers on their new album, “The Doctor,” and following up with a classic oldie of theirs, “The Dark of the Matinee.” Throughout the show, lead singer Alex Kapranos had an infectious energy that radiated throughout the room. He made sure to address the audience between songs, even mentioning that when they were walking around Boston before the show, they felt like they were at home in Glasgow. Boston was happy to host, and I’m sure I speak for everyone in attendance that we hope they come back soon.
