Hot Gig Alert (06.22 – 06.23): For Your Health visit New England for two shows (RI, MA)
Columbus, OH metal group For Your Health shared their second full-length studio album earlier this month, in the form of a 38-minute record called This Bitter Garden. “These songs are a true distillation of all the sonic ideas we’ve explored previously and our different interests,” Guitarist Rosa Delgado comments. “Hayden has a strong appreciation for film. We’re coupling his world-building and atmosphere with the immediacy, urgency, and brutality of our early material. We’re always striving to challenge ourselves. This Bitter Garden is an expansion of everything before.”
Cutting a total of 13 songs in just 15 days, the band recorded with producer Eric Hudson at a studio “repurposed from an old church in the sticks of Illinois.” Sessions typically ran from 10 am to 4 am each day. They expanded upon their usual process, infusing acoustic guitar, live piano, and keys into the soundscape.
Starting tonight in Pittsburgh, PA the band kicks off an eighteen-date US tour that will visit New England for a pair of shows on Sunday and Monday in Providence, RI and Somerville, MA, respectively.
