Editor’s note: The first day of Newport Folk 2025 was highlighted by a star studded Bleachers set that featured guest performers such as Maren Morris, Rufust Wainwright and an unannounced appearance by Paramore front woman Hayley Williams. Bleachers’ set was billed as The Ally Coaliton Talent show and featured more covers than original Bleachers songs. But that was far from the only noteworthy performance of the day with other standout sets including Alex G, M.J. Lenderman, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and lots more.
