Editor’s note: Classic rock icons The Doobie Brothers are on tour to promote their sixteenth studio album, Walk This Road. Since their formation 55 years ago, the group has undergone several lineup changes, but founding members Tom Johnston and Patrick Simmons remain. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020 and has sold over 40 million records worldwide to date. Joining Johnston and Simmons as official band members are Michael McDonald and John McFee, who joined in 1975 and 1979, respectively. Touring members John Cowan (bass, vocals), Marc Russo (saxophone), Ed Toth (drums, percussion), Marc QuiƱones (percussion, backing vocals) round out the eight-member live lineup. The group was in New England over the weekend for shows in Mansfield, MA on Friday and Gilford, NH last night. Check out Mike Von Villas’ photo gallery from Friday’s show, including some images from the Coral Reefer Band, who opened up the night.
