British singer-songwriter Sam Fender made his New England debut last night with a sold-out show at Boston’s Roadrunner. Fender is back in the US after a huge summer in his native England that saw him play a sold-out show at London Olympic Stadium to 80,000 people, and three sold-out Newcastle shows at the 52,000 capacity St. James’ Park. With that kind of résumé, the 3,500 capacity Roadrunner is considered an intimate venue for Fender. Some in attendance even traveled to the US solely for the show, Fender acknowledged a fan in the front row who claimed to have come from Glasgow to see him. Earlier this year, Fender shared his third studio album, People Watching via Interscope Records. All three of Fender’s records have debuted at No.1 on the British charts, making him one of the hottest artists in the country right now. For his American fans, it was a special treat to see him perform songs from his new album and even debut an unreleased track, “Talk to Me.” Check out photos from last night’s gig below.
