PHOTOS: Tomahawk, Melvins in Boston, MA (07.30.26)
American alt-metal supergroup Tomahawk played their first New England area show in thirteen years recently. The group consists of Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle), Duane Denison (The Jesus Lizard), John Stanier (Helmet), and Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle). They released their self-titled debut album in 2001 and released three more before splitting up in 2014. In January 2021, they released their first single in seven years, and announced a new studio album that would come out later in the year. Between the live music industry being effected by the pandemic and the members’ busy schedules with other projects, Tomhawk never had the chance to tour the record until now. On the current run of dates they’re being supported by sludge metal outfit Melvins, who just released their twenty eighth studio album, Thunderball last year.
