California, Missouri native Kassi Ashton who is signed to MCA Nashville Records has yet to release a full length record yet already boasts over half a million monthly Spotify listeners. With her top single “Drive You Out Of My Mind” sitting at 22.5 mil streams has already earned rave reviews from CMT, People, and Taste of Country among others.
Her latest singled “Called Crazy” dropped on March 1st and is a response to the exes who have dared to call her “crazy,” she described it saying: “This wasn’t a fancy hook or Nashville flip I had going into my co-write with Jared Keim and Emily Weisband. This was just one, single, universal bit of truth that I think all women would agree with; any man who has ever called me crazy, has called me again. After explaining it to them, Emily sang, ‘I never been called crazy by a man who didn’t come back’ just as you hear the melody in the song. I looked at her and sang ‘for more.’ We knew we had a smash and freaked out until the last word was written. I’ve been playing this out live here and there for the past six months and the screams I get from the women of the crowd after the first chorus hits tells me I was right in my assumption.
