NEWS: My Chemical Romance announces 2025 summer stadium tour
Fresh off a headlining performance of The Black Parade in full at the When We Were Young Festival, legendary act My Chemical Romance just announced a summer stadium tour, “Long Live”: The Black Parade North American Tour. And the internet is surely unwell. Thematically, because of course, the band teased an announcement yesterday on social media and unleashed the trailer for their tour just minutes ago. It’s wild even to imagine what this tour will look like, taking over ten baseball stadiums in ten cities next summer. Seemingly handpicked openers, everyone from Devo to Garbage, will be changed up for each date of the tour. Luckily for attendees in Boston, the reckless and relentless three-time Grammy-nominated Brits in IDLES will join MCR at Fenway.
For Boston, the band will be bringing their tour to Fenway Park on September 7th, serving as the penultimate show of the tour and the band’s first time here since they finally made their last tour happen in 2022. That last tour was delayed for several years due to the pandemic. Fenway has served as the ultimate venue for punk rock bands the past few summers, with Green Day with Rancid in tow, Blink 182 with Pierce the Veil, and Foo Fighters all making stops there this past summer. Co-When We Were Young headliners Fall Out Boy took it on in 2023 with Bring Me The Horizon, but I think we can all agree that My Chemical Romance’s take-over of the stadium will be the one for all the elder emos to unite at.
With the return of Warped next year, even if it’s only in three cities, countless full album tours happening, everyone and their mom seemingly going on tour, let’s soak it up and make sure that this is one that you don’t miss.
