Hot Gig Alert (10.23): Shudder to Think kick off first tour in 17 years in Boston
Earlier this year, Washington, D.C. post-hardcore legends Shudder to Think played live for the first time in 12 years with a pair of gigs at Permanent Records Roadhouse in Los Angeles. Last year, the band celebrated the 30th anniversary of their groundbreaking 1994 album Pony Express Record. The record made waves in the alt-rock scene at the time and put the band on the map. Later this week the group will embark on their first headline tour in 17 years, with the first date coming right here in New England.
In the late 90’s the group took up scoring films and creating music for soundtracks with the 1998 releases of Jesse Peretz’s First Love, Last Rites; Lisa Cholodenko’s High Art and the Todd Haynes epic, Velvet Goldmine. Wedren and Larson have remained in the industry with Wedren working on YELLOWJACKETS, Wet Hot American Summer, The School Of Rock, Laurel Canyon and more; and Larson working on Our Idiot Brother, The Skeleton Twins, Juliet, Naked and High Fidelity and more.
Shudder to Think play Middle East Downstairs (472 Massachusetts Ave Cambridge, MA 02139) on October 23rd. Doors for the show open at 6:30 pm. The show is all ages and advance tickets start at $35. Tickets are available – HERE.
