Welsh alt-rockers The Joy Formidable visited New England for the first time in four years last night, playing a rescheduled show that was originally set for March. Typically a three-piece band, they were playing primarily as a duo, with permanent members Ritzy Bryan and Rhydian Dafydd, playing a stripped-down set. This tour’s setlist is primarily made up of songs from the band’s first two albums, The Big Roar (2011) and Wolf’s Law (2013). Both Bryan and Dafydd also took the opportunity to play one of their solo songs as well. The duo also spent part of the night talking with the crowd about several topics, including the likelihood of a tour later this year to celebrate the 15th anniversary of The Big Roar. Check out photos from last night’s show below, as well as our interview with Dafydd – HERE.
