Hot Gig Alert (6/30): The Cab make their triumphant return to Boston

It’s been almost fifteen years since Las Vegas’s The Cab made their way to the state, but that drought ends tomorrow. The band has been careening across North America in support of their brand-new record, Chasing Crowns, and the tour culminates with a long-awaited final show at Royale in Boston tomorrow night. Not only will the band be playing their first show in the area since 2012, but they will also be bringing along Paradise Fears as their main support, a name that also hasn’t been in the area in ten-plus years.
First forming in 2004, the band has accrued quite a catalog, and plenty of fan favorite moments are sure to be present in tomorrow night’s set, if the previous dates of the tour have anything to say for it. The band even brought out their collaborator for their smash in New York, “Take My Hand,” bringing fellow scene veteran Cassadee Pope out for the track. But as well as a slew of fan-favorites, the meant-to-be-played-live moments from their latest album are sure to keep their fans just as on their toes, particularly in moments like “Locked and Loaded” and many more.
If there’s one thing to know about The Cab, it’s the way they continue to give action-packed performances, and unlike a lot of “reunion” tours, focus on a lot of their newer stuff, but this set-list is a strong majority of their hits from over the years. Be it the slower, more yearning songs or the bounciest of pop tracks, they have all had a huge presence on this tour.
Very limited tickets are still available for the gig here, but definitely pick them up while you still can. As well as the aforementioned Paradise Fears, the show tomorrow night will be kicked off by CARR! Doors are at 6:30 with CARR taking the stage at 7:30 pm! The band’s last MA area performance was in 2012, a co-headliner with The Summer Set, and with both bands actively touring again, it’s definitely a bit of healing that all the elder emos truly need!
