PHOTOS: Perfume Genius, Hand Habits in Boston, MA (04.05.22)
The flamboyant and vibrant style of Michael Hadreas, known by his stage name Perfume Genius, was on display at Royale in Boston, MA on a recent visit to New England. Hadreas is on tour promoting his new album Ugly Season which comes out in June via Matador Records. Flanked by a five piece ensemble helping bring the songs to a live setting, he performed from all albums in his catalog, but focused mostly on his last album, 2020’s Set My Heart on Fire Immediately. Part performance art and part concert Perfume Genuis’ set enthralled the Boston crowd. We were onsite and have some pictures from the set, including a few from opener Hand Habits also known as Meg Duffy, who performs in Perfume Genius’ backing band.
